STATEMENT

Bird is an east coast based store re-locating to the west coast. Bird owner, Jen Mankins, believes in keeping the historical essence of buildings, quirks and all. In translating the company’s ideas and look, I decided to choose the Olympic theater as the new location. In keeping its historical essence, all of the fixtures would be refurbished. To help keep the building itself intact, Bird would have a clothing line in which part of its proceeds would go to the California Preservation Foundation. The line, Olympic Line, would run each season and a designer hosted by the store would be in charge of the creation for the season.
